Happy Heroes is a chore and allowance tracking app built by Emrich Digital. It's designed to be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian, with children interacting only within the areas that parent sets up for them. This app is likely to fall under the ICO's Age Appropriate Design Code (Children's Code), which applies to online services "likely to be accessed by children."

Who controls the account

The app account belongs to the parent or guardian. A parent sets a PIN to control access to settings, task creation, and any changes to earnings or goals. Children access their own task view without a separate login.

What we collect

• Parent/guardian account details: name, email, password (encrypted).
• Child profile information: a first name or nickname only — we don't need or ask for a child's full name, date of birth, or contact details.
• Task and progress data: chores assigned, completion status, streaks.
• Earnings and savings data: amounts assigned per task and running totals. These are tracked in the app; Happy Heroes does not process payments or connect to a bank or card.
• Technical data: Happy Heroes does not use analytics, crash reporting, or other services that send technical data to us.

What we don't do — in line with the Children's Code

• No behavioural advertising or ad tracking aimed at children, ever.
• No selling children's data, under any circumstances.
• No direct marketing to the child's profile.
• No use of a child's location data.
• No "nudge" techniques designed to keep a child engaged longer than useful.
• Default settings are the most private, safest option.

Allowance tracking

Happy Heroes can track allowance and payout history for a family's own reference. It does not move money, process payments, connect to a bank or card, or act as a financial service.

Who can see it

Only the parent/guardian account holder. We don't share child profile or task data with third parties or anyone outside your household account.

How long we keep it

Happy Heroes does not keep your data on our systems because it has no account or server. Your data stays in the app's local storage on your device until you remove a hero in Settings or delete the app.

Parental rights

As the account holder, you can view, edit, or delete your child's profile and data at any time, or request full deletion by contacting us. You don't need your child's consent to do this.

Where your data is stored

Your family data is stored only in the app's local storage on your device. Notifications and timer alerts are scheduled locally by iOS and are not routed through a server we operate.
